This document applies to the service (AnuEdu) operated by Balance Anneau Inc.

AnuEdu (hereinafter "Service") is a Korean pronunciation learning mobile application and related website operated by Balance Anneau Inc. (hereinafter "Company"). The Company regards users' personal information with utmost importance and complies with the Personal Information Protection Act and other applicable laws and regulations. This Policy describes how the Company collects, uses, retains, and destroys personal information.
1. Personal Information Collected
A. Account Information
- Users register through Google or Apple social login, and the Company receives their email address and account identifier from the respective provider.
- At the time of registration, users provide a nickname, country, age, and gender; a profile image may optionally be uploaded.
- The Company does not collect phone numbers or passwords, and does not support social login providers other than Google and Apple.
B. Voice Data for Pronunciation Assessment
- When using the pronunciation assessment feature, the user's spoken voice is recorded and stored for pronunciation analysis.
- Collected voice data is used solely for the purpose of pronunciation assessment and delivery of results, and is not used for any other purpose, including AI model training.
- Some processing for voice recognition and analysis may be performed through third parties (e.g., Microsoft Azure).
C. Learning Data
- Learning activity information including word bookmarks, daily quiz attempts and results, and reward accumulation history.
D. Automatically Collected Information
- Device and browser information, access logs, and IP addresses may be automatically collected in the course of using the Service.
- The website uses a minimal number of cookies to maintain login sessions and preserve language settings.
2. Purposes of Use of Personal Information
- Member identification and provision and operation of the Service
- Pronunciation assessment and coaching, and personalization of learning content
- Responding to customer inquiries and delivering notices
- Prevention of fraudulent use and improvement of the Service
- Payment processing and related notifications upon future introduction of paid services
- Fulfillment of obligations under applicable laws and regulations
3. Third-Party Provision and Entrustment of Personal Information Processing
The Company may entrust the processing of personal information or provide personal information to third parties as set forth below for the purpose of providing the Service.
- Authentication: Google, Apple (social login)
- Infrastructure and hosting: Vultr (data center: Seoul, Republic of Korea)
- Voice recognition and AI processing: Microsoft Azure, etc.
- Text-to-speech (TTS) provider
- Payment processing provider upon future introduction of paid services
Where a lawful request is made pursuant to applicable laws and regulations, the Company may provide personal information in accordance with such laws and regulations.
4. Cross-Border Transfer of Personal Information
For the purpose of providing the Service, some personal information processing (e.g., cloud infrastructure, voice recognition) may take place outside the Republic of Korea. The Company takes the necessary measures to ensure safe transfers in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
5. Retention and Destruction
- The Company destroys personal information without delay once the purpose for which it was collected has been achieved.
- Upon account withdrawal, personal information held by the Company is destroyed immediately. However, information that applicable laws and regulations require to be retained for a specified period shall be retained for that period and then destroyed.
6. Rights of Users
- Users may request access to, correction of, deletion of, suspension of processing of, and withdrawal of consent with respect to their personal information.
- Users may modify their profile or withdraw their account through the app settings; other requests may be submitted to anueduteam@gmail.com.
7. Children Under the Age of 14
The Company does not collect personal information from children under the age of 14 without the consent of their legal guardian. If a user is identified as being under the age of 14, the relevant account and personal information will be deleted without delay.
8. Measures to Ensure the Security of Personal Information
The Company implements reasonable security measures, including encryption of data in transit, access control, and access log management, to protect personal information.
